CREAM EXPOSURE - surface polish only

EXPOSURE DESCRIPTION

Resin diamond polished finished. There is no grinding of the surface laitance and no exposure of aggregates.

TYPICAL USE 

Finish for any new or existing concrete floors. Ideal for newly laid floors where placing can be controlled to achieve a flat surface.  

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

This highly desired finishing is difficult to achieve. We generally say that we are only able to offer this finish for newly poured concrete that is poured specifically to stringent specifications. We  do not have any  control  over  placement which includes: flatness, staining, footprints, or colour, as this has been predetermined by the concrete installers. Repairs will look like repairs. If you floor has yet to be placed we have finishing technique recommendations that can be offered to help achieve desired finished look, but solely we are only honing the surface and not removing anything.  It is also common in cream polish finishes that  contamination such as but not limited to Styrofoam, wood, power trowel marks foot prints or pop outs ect can be found in the finish. 

MAINTENANCE

Regularly use only water or a PH neutral cleaner. the concrete does not like acidic or oily substances. 

 

MINIMAL EXPOSURE - light

EXPOSURE DESCRIPTION

The exposure is typically achieved by up to two mechanical passes with a 60-grit metal bond (or lower), removing only the cream layer of the surface revealing salt and pepper sands and stone with potential of larger stone.

TYPICAL USE 

Finish for any new or existing concrete floors. Ideal for newly laid floors where placing can be controlled to achieve a flat surface. 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Achieving this finish will depend largely on the flatness of floor that has been poured and finished by the concrete installers, and will potentially expose some large stones. Due to an uneven pour and finish, it is common that some cream patches remain in this finish. It is also common in minimal expsures contamination such as but not limited to Styrofoam, wood, power trowel marks foot prints or pop outs ect can be found in the finish. NCRP has an excellent attention to detail to help remedy these important considerations above, but in some cases are out of our control and can remain in the finish

RANDOM EXPOSURE - light salt & pepper to larger stone 

EXPOSURE DESCRIPTION

A variety of stone exposure based on the highs and lows of the floor, resulting in stone sizes ranging from cream/minimal to large agg. This exposure level allows us to grind the floor flatter (within tolerance), and elevating most of the contamination typically found in minimal or cream exposures. This process will start with using a 50-grit metal bond diamond (or lower).

Finish for any new, existing OR damaged concrete floors

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Achieving this finish will depend largely on how the floor has been poured and finished by the concrete installers, and we do not have any control over the placement or exposure of large or small aggregates. This finish will not result in a consistent exposure. although we do find that with evenly worked surface in conjunction with our placement recommendations for cream finishes typically result in less large stone exposure

FULL EXPOSURE - full

EXPOSURE DESCRIPTION

Deep grinding to expose large embedded aggregate. The floor is bound flat leaving a mixture of heavy stone and fine aggregates that are then resin diamond polished. 

TYPICAL USE

Finish for any new, existing or damaged concrete floors

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Provided that the concrete has been poured evenly and to the right specifications, you should have as the same suggests, full stone showing through.  To achieve this look, the process is more labour intensive.
